My first stone carving at Matamata, a gothic arch with a celtic knot.
Learning is For Life!
This page is dedicated to those teachers that saw the potential that I had, that I completely ignored and promptly left school as early as possible.
It seems ironic now that I chose a career in teaching after deciding that school wasn't for me earlier in my life. It seems to me that I just wasn't ready back in the early eighties so I have some sympathies for senior students at schools these days where they just don't seem to fit in.
The stone carving I completed in early 2011 is a real example of what it means to be a life long learner. I have been searching for a creative pathways to relax and enjoy and the latest in a long line of hobbies is painting with acrylics, some of which I will post as they are completed. Previously I had tried wood carving, guitar, paper tole, writing (I was fairly successful with poetry), pottery and even upholstery. The photographs below highlight this passion for trying new things and keeps me going, keeps me interested.
